Israeli Air Power

Fixed-Wing | Rotary-Wing Aircraft

The modern Israeli Air Force (IAF) has a heavy reliance on American over-battlefield solutions. Cold War veterans are present through the F-16 Fighting Falcon multirole and the F-15 Eagle air superriotiy types, the latter also taken on it its strike-centric F-15E Strike Eagle form. The service has also introduced the 5th Generation F-35 Lightning II strike fighter in number with more on order to complete the fleet. Beyond this is the venerable C-130 Hercules tactical transport workhorse, which also appears in the dedicated tanker form, and fixed wing jet- and turbo-prop powered mounts covering roles from SIGINT and AWACS to fixed-wing and rotary-wing training. The rotorcraft force is led by the American AH-64 Apache attack helicopter while troop movements are facilitated by the UH-60 Black Hawk series as well as the CH-53 heavy-lift. The AS565 serves the Israeli Navy in the SAR role.
